Absentee Bid Form
Registration
There is no charge to attend or bid at this auction. We do require all potential buyers to register with us prior to bidding. You will need a current valid driver’s license or state ID & a valid credit card for credit reference purposes. Registration can be done at the preview or auction. For those bidding absentee (more info below), registration is included in our standard bid form, which can be called, emailed or faxed to us.
Three Ways to Bid
In person: If you are able to attend the auction, this is the recommended way to bid. You can personally inspect the items for sale, drawing your own conclusions on value & condition (all bidders are highly urged to do so). You can be certain your bids get placed correctly, and raise at the last moment if you decide you are willing to pay a bit more for an item you really want or jump in the bidding on an unexpected bargain.
Absentee: If you are unable to attend the auction in person, absentee bidding is a good option. Just fill out our absentee bid form, telling us what you want to bid on & the most you are willing to bid. Using this information we will bid for you, trying to buy as cheaply as possible in competition with other bidders in the auction. Completed absentee bid forms can be emailed or faxed to our office. We can also take your absentee bids over the phone. All absentee bids must be placed by 9pm the day before the auction, unless other arrangements are made.
Telephone Biddings: Another option for those unable to attend the live auction. A limited number of lines are available for bidding live over the phone. Phone bids are reserved for buyers who are willing to bid to at least the low end of the estimated selling price of an item, if the bidding reaches that level. Phone bid forms must be received by 9pm the day before the auction, unless other arrangements are made.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can bid?
Any U.S. Citizen who is legally able to buy a modern firearm in their home area may bid & buy at our gun auctions.
Sale of Firearms:
All sales of firearms will be in strict compliance with all firearms laws & regulations.
You do NOT need to be a licensed firearms dealer to buy guns at this auction. Anyone who is legally eligible to own a gun may bid & buy.
Antique (Pre 1898) Firearms: These may be picked up the day of sale, or may be shipped directly to absentee bidders unless your local or state law restricts this.
Modern Firearms: Gary Germer & Associates is a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer (FFL), and you can purchase these guns the same way you would from a gun shop. Live bidders may fill out the required form 4473, and get an instant FBI NICS background check by phone at the auction after you pay. If your NICS background check clears, as is usually the case, you can take the guns the same day. If there is a NICS delay, you will need to come back after NICS clears you.
* Modern long guns can be sold live at the auction to residents of most states.
* Modern handguns can be sold & transferred only to residents of Oregon. Residents of other states may bid on & buy modern handguns, but must arrange shipment of modern handguns to an FFL dealer in their home state.
* Out of state & absentee bidders can have guns shipped to FFL dealers in their hometown. Most gun shops will receive these for you and legally transfer them to you for a modest fee. You will need to have them send Gary Germer & Associates a signed copy of their FFL with your name, noting it is for your purchases.
FFL Licensees:
FFL Dealers are welcome to bid & buy. You will need a signed copy of your FFL for Gary Germer & Associates, the transferee for this sale.
