This spectacular statement piece was handcrafted by the highly acclaimed Lakota/Sioux artist Michael Little Elk (1950 - 2012). Known for his elite, museum-quality Southwestern and Plains-style lapidary work, Elk often crafts dramatic, heavy-gauge sterling silver ceremonial figurines and oversized kachina imagery heavily inlaid with premium materials like Royston or Kingman turquoise, Mediterranean coral, and mother of pearl. This piece is a prime example. It is incredible and a rare find!
Eagle Dancer kachina in hand hammered sterling silver inlaid with some the most gorgeous gemstones I have ever seen of these kind. Deep reddish-purple spiny oyster, natural turquoise (very likely Royston or Kingman), and mother of pearl. The largest turquoise measures approximately 7/8" x 1 1/4".
Mounted on a polished black marble stand with sterling upright holder. Easily removable from stand. Has a metal loop at back and could be worn as a bolo tie, but a heavy one, weighing in at 495 grams.
Measures 10" tall x 5" x 4 7/8" (including stand). Sculpture measures 8" tall x 8" wide wing span.

Excellent condition, I left unpolished. I am unsure if there was a gemstone originally in the opening at the face or if it was meant to be open.
